Marissa is based in Los Angeles, CA. 

Marissa Cueva is a screenwriter born and raised in Los Angeles, California, to a large, traditional Mexican family from Jalisco. She is an eldest Latina daughter, a published poet, and the granddaughter of immigrants. She is a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University, where she double-majored in Screenwriting and Chicano and Latino Studies. 

Marissa is pursuing a career in writing for the film industry and also has a prominent interest in writing poetry and prose. Her work includes dramas and historical fiction revolving around themes of feminism, social justice, family and visibility. She has previously had work published in the anthology Somos Xicanas, Lines And Breaks literary journal, Acentos Review, and the Conchas y Cafe poetry zine.
